Sikh Wedding Cabo San Lucas | Manat & Lovepreet
27 – 30 September, 2023
Manat and Lovepreet’s Sikh wedding Cabo San Lucas unfolded over four days, each one building naturally into the next.
Hard Rock Cabos has a very particular energy — open skies, ocean views, and a slightly more relaxed pace compared to other destinations — and it suited this wedding perfectly. Nothing felt forced. Everything had space to breathe, which is exactly what you want across multiple days of celebrations.
From the very beginning, it felt less like a schedule to follow and more like a gathering that gradually gained momentum.
Day 1 – Welcome Party by the Ocean
The wedding began with a welcome party set right by the Eden Terrace at Hard Rock Cabos.
It was informal, as it should be. Guests arrived, reconnected, and settled into the setting — music in the background, drinks flowing, and that familiar shift where a group of individuals becomes a wedding.
There was no rush. Just conversation, laughter, and the kind of atmosphere that sets the tone for everything that follows.
By the end of the evening, it already felt like everyone was part of something shared.
Day 2 – Maiyaan Ceremony & Jago Night
The second day started early with the Maiyaan ceremony.
This is always one of the more intimate parts of a Sikh wedding. Close family, softer moments, and traditions that feel grounded and personal. The turmeric ritual, the singing, the small interactions between people — it’s less about scale and more about connection.
As the day moved on, that calm gave way to something very different.
The Jago night shifted everything back into full energy. Bright colours, music, and the unmistakable rhythm of Punjabi celebrations. Family members carried decorated pots, moving through the space as the music built, drawing everyone in.
It had that slightly chaotic, high-energy feel — but in the best possible way.
Day 3 – Sikh Wedding Cabo San Lucas
The third day marked the Anand Karaj, the Sikh wedding ceremony itself.
Held in a beautifully prepared indoor space, the setting was intentionally simple. That’s part of what makes Sikh ceremonies so powerful — nothing distracts from what’s actually happening.
The pace slowed. The atmosphere changed.
There’s a calmness to the Anand Karaj that contrasts completely with the energy of the previous events. Guests become still, focused. The ceremony unfolds without interruption, and everything feels more considered.
It’s a moment where the scale of the wedding fades slightly, and the meaning behind it becomes clearer.
Day 4 – Reception in Cabo San Lucas
By the fourth day, the dynamic had shifted again.
Everyone was comfortable, familiar with each other, and fully immersed in the celebration — which is when receptions tend to work best.
The space was transformed into a more refined setting for the evening. Lighting, décor, and layout all working together to create something that felt distinct from the previous days.
Manat and Lovepreet’s entrance set the tone immediately, followed by speeches that felt genuine rather than staged.
And then the dance floor filled — and stayed that way.
There’s always a point in a multi-day wedding where everything clicks. This was it.
Why Cabo San Lucas Works for Sikh Weddings
Cabo San Lucas is increasingly becoming a strong choice for Sikh weddings, particularly for couples travelling from the US and Canada.
- Spacious venues that can accommodate multi-day events
- Reliable weather for outdoor celebrations
- A balance between relaxed atmosphere and luxury settings
- Easy travel for international guests
For Sikh weddings, where the experience spans several days and multiple types of events, having a destination that supports both scale and flow makes a noticeable difference.
