Hacienda Dzibikak Wedding - Yucatán
Carolina & Oscar
22nd February, 2020
Hacienda Dzibikak is an absolutely charming old Yucatan colonial home and a short drive from Merida. This wonderful old hacienda is where Carolina and Oscar celebrated their destination wedding in Mexico. A bubbly fusion of 2 families, and an adorable bride and groom! Here is a little more about Carolina and Oscar´s story.
How did you meet?
We met on Bumble (a dating application). She started the conversation and invited me for a drink.
What was your first date?
At a speakeasy bar called Left Door in Washington D.C. and after the bar we had some tacos at El Centro D.F.
How and where did your partner propose to you?
It was very Oscar, intimate and loving. I was at home, sick in bed, and asked for soup. He came home and proposed!
What was the most memorable moment of your wedding?
Carolinas entrance to the church, watching the two families unite and the positive energy that everyone had.
What was the most funny moment of your wedding?
Carolina’s aunt Tereista put on an afro wig and stood by some uplighting, she looked like a true fortune teller! I think we had fun watching people from all over the world dance like crazy.
Why did you choose your wedding venue?
It is wonderful, we envisioned our dance floor under the tree and that is when we decided to do it there. Richard and Lena are bilingual and that is very helpful for Carolina’s family.
Give us a summary of your wedding day
It was beautiful fusion of two families uniting to celebrate our love. The atmosphere raged with positive energy, love, and support. It was a ton of fun. The music was awesome, we had two great djs (both our cousins), the venue was a dream. A truly unforgettable day.
