NGO’S IN MEXICO AND LATIN AMERICA
A collection of my photographic work from volunterring with various NGOs in Latin America.

I was with an NGO in a community in Puerto Colombia, about 30 minutes from Barranquilla in Colombia. The community has scarce resources, and a majority of the people who reside in this area, live in small dark wooden slums with a hard mud floor on uneven surfaces. The NGO I was with builds "emergency homes" for those families that most need it due to the dire circumstances they live in. Typically for young or single mothers with young children. The children here were fascinated with my presence, both as a foreigner and my camera. A piece of equipment that we often take for granted to provide us with cherished memories with family and friends, yet is also a vital instrument for visually conveying social development and similar issues for persons who most need resource and opportunity. This particular shot captured the young girl looking at the camera, whilst her younger brother walks through their current home.
